Senior Software Developers

Analyzing user requirements, planning and performing system development, customization and deployment of various web-based projects. Conferring with management to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and learn specific system operations. Developing various new system modules using .Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, C#.Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Telerik Rad controls, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript and Oracle. Designing and implementing an e-commerce payment system functionality via Authorize.Net. Integrating system data from various sources, including Oracle, Access and EDExpress to provide a robust and easy system for use by the end-users. Developing and implementing test validations of the systems as required by the project. Analyzing test results and recommending modifications to the systems to meet project specifications. Analyzing, tracking and resolving system bugs and issues throughout the testing lifecycle. Monitoring and ensuring optimal performance of the systems. Studying existing information systems to evaluate effectiveness in developing new systems to improve the overall system architecture. Documenting modifications and enhancements to the systems as required by the project.

Requirements:
Master's Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or Engineering (Employer will accept a Bachelor's Degree and five years' experience in lieu of Master's Degree) and two years' experience in position or two years' experience in IT field.


Special requirements:
Experience with ASP.Net, C#.Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Telerik Rad controls, CSS, Ajax and JavaScript.

ESL Full-Time Faculty

Proprietary institution of postsecondary education with multiple locations is seeking an experienced ESL Instructor to join the English Language Programs (ELP) Department. This is a 12-month full-time position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teach between 20 and 32 hours per week as assigned
  • Participate in curriculum review and development
  • Participate in onboarding of new faculty members
  • Support and lead adjunct faculty
  • Engage in departmental improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • An MA Degree in Linguistics with Specialization in TESOL from an accredited institution.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey complex concepts in a clear, concise manner

  • Proficiency utilizing computers and willingness to experiment using multimedia instructional materials.
  • Fluency in a second language is desirable.

HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGER

BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates over 2,500 students annually at its four Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Health Information Technology (HIT) Program Manager.

Duties per area of responsibility:
1. Participates in instruction and curriculum development by:

  • Reviewing and revising program goals and learning outcomes.
  • Leading the redesign of the HIT program.
  • Developing and reviewing course syllabi (i.e. implementing ICD-10 training in the curriculum)
  • Evaluating textbooks and learning materials.
  • Teaching and substituting as needed.
2. Maintaining and fostering industry relations by:
  • Keeping abreast of trends and changes within the field.
  • Establishing and maintaining industry contacts.
  • Enhancing the School's recognition in the health information technology arena.
3. Conducts the daily (year-round, multi-campus) administrative operations for the HIT program by:
  • Managing existing processes and procedures, initiating improvements, and participating in creating new processes for the HIT program.
  • Working with faculty management to recruit new faculty.
  • Integrating industry trends into the HIT program curriculum.
4. Works with faculty by:
  • Ensuring all HIT courses as taught meet learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Conducting industry-related professional development training.
  • Providing assistance for HCP instructors with practicum and instructional related issues.
  • Participating in the onboarding process of new HIT faculty.
5. Works with students by:
  • Holding office hours to assist students with academic and career related issues.
  • Mitigating and resolving academic issues for the benefit of the School and students.


Qualifications:
BS/BA in a healthcare related field; Master's degree desirable.

  • 5 years of experience in revenue cycle in a hospital, clinical setting, or insurance company.
  • Experience teaching or training adults in classroom or clinical settings highly preferred.
  • Current CBCS/CMAA (NHA) or CMS (AMT) certification, ability to obtain one within 90 days of hiring, or relevant background.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electronic medical records creation and implementation processes.
  • Proven track record of developing long-term professional relationships.
  • Dynamic and concise communication skills with strong conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Medisoft.

Test Preparation Program Manager

BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates over 2,500 students annually at its four Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Test Preparation Program Coordinator. The selected candidate will oversee all aspects of the Test Preparation program, assume an active role in promoting the programs to prospective students, and establish and develop relationships with local colleges and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively seeks and develops partnership agreements with local colleges and universities
  • Promotes the program to prospective students internally and externally
  • Promotes the program to prospective students internally and externally
  • Develops and improves the curriculum for test preparation programs
  • Evaluates student performance and program efficacy
  • Provides testing information to current students and deals with student issues as needed
  • Takes lead in the process of establishing a licensed IELTS Testing Center on site
  • Takes lead in the expansion of testing offerings
  • Works with the Registrar's office on course offerings and schedule


Qualifications:
We are seeking a seasoned professional who has:

  • 5+ years administrative work experience in a university, college or language school in curriculum development, program evaluation, promotion, or similar field
  • 3+ experience teaching GMAT, GRE, LSAT, TOEFL, IELTS or similar test preparation is highly desirable
  • An advanced degree is required
  • High energy, creativity and initiative
  • An established network of educators in the Chicagoland area
